Bill & Marguerite Scharf

Family owned and operated since 1946, Scharf Farm provides customers with seasonal homegrown produce straight from our family's farm to your family's table.   In October of 1945, William and Marguerite D. (Wehmeier) Scharf married, and that following spring marked Scharf Farm's first growing season with grain farming (wheat, corn, soybeans) as well as homegrown strawberries and asparagus sold at the farm's roadside stand 4 miles north of Millstadt, Illinois.  By the late 1960's, production of grain, strawberries, and asparagus increased, along with other fruits and vegetables.

In the mid-1970's, Allen Scharf, William and Marguerite's third and youngest child, a school teacher and farmer, and his bride Nancy (Erwin) Scharf, expanded the family farming business to include the wide variety of produce and greenhouse products still grown today, and in 1979 added our second location at Soulard Market in the City of St. Louis, Missouri.

We look forward to sharing our family farm with you.  All are welcome!
